Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to give my name or contact details to see quotes?

Correct. The quote tool asks for gender, your birth date, how you would rate your health, whether you use tobacco, the death benefit you want, and how long you want coverage to last. Those six pieces of information are enough for carriers to quote you. Personal details like your name, address, or medical records are only collected if you choose to move forward to the application.

Are the monthly prices shown the price I will pay?

What you see are the rates each carrier quotes for the underwriting class you selected in the form. The final rate is determined after the carrier reviews your application and health history during underwriting, and may confirm, improve, or change your class. These quotes are estimates for information only and are not an offer of insurance, a price guarantee, or a promise of approval.

What happens when I click Apply?

You provide your name and choose a carrier. The application continues on the carriers' secure platform with the answers you already gave filled in. You can stop at any time and resume later. You sign electronically. The whole process is handled by Susman Insurance Agency, a licensed California agency (License 0B75129), and nothing is bound until a policy is issued.

Will I need a medical exam?

It depends on the carrier, the amount of coverage, and your health history. Many carriers now offer accelerated underwriting for eligible applicants—they make a decision without an exam using your application, prescription records, and other data instead. Each quote tells you whether that carrier requires an exam, might require one, or does not require one for that specific product.

Is a longer term better?

A term should be long enough to cover the years when your dependents or your business would be hurt by your death—a mortgage that will take 20 years to pay off, children who will need support for 15 years, a loan that runs for 10. Longer terms cost more each month but lock your rate in for longer, giving you the certainty of a fixed payment. The quote tool lets you compare 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30-year terms side by side.

Does this site sell my information?

No. The quote tool does not collect your contact information. We do not sell, rent, or share visitor data with anyone. Our measurement system does not use cookies or tracking pixels. Visit the privacy page to see the complete list of what we collect, who collects it, and how long we keep it.
